9TH ANNUAL WORLD T’AI CHI AND QIGONG DAY

On April 28th, 2007 at 10 am, beginning in the Earth's earliest time zone, a peaceful, soothing event will unfold, and change the world forever, as it blooms around the Earth throughout the entire day- time zone by time zone. Gently and effortlessly the world will breathe together in a T'ai Chi & Qigong relay of calm. We have all experienced the soothing calm of practicing or witnessing others doing T'ai Chi or Qigong and on World T'ai Chi & Qigong Day the entire planet will have that opportunity.
At 10:00 am (local time) Shreveport will join the celebration by continuing the world-wide wave of healing movement. Led by Sifu Janis Gabriel of the Phoenix Virtue Temple, festivities will begin in Betty Virginia Park (Line Avenue at Ockley) at 9:00 am with warm-up exercise and Qigong practice prior to T’ai Chi which will begin at precisely 10:00 am. World-wide, this event spans 60 nations on 6 continents in over 700 cities – come be a part of the energy, the education, the healing, the fun!!!

World T’ai Chi and Qigong Day

Saturday, 28 April 2007 is World Tai Chi and Qigong Day...the world over! This will be the 9th annual celebration. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. in New Zealand and moving across our dear planet, united by a desire for health and healing ~ millions will share in this incredible energetic event! Over 60 nations on 6 continents…in over 700 cities worldwide…in all 50 states in the United States of America…all will transmit and share this incredible healing energy.
Here in Shreveport the local Tao Ahn Pai group from Phoenix Virtue Temple as well as any and everyone who wishes to join us, will celebrate this event at Betty Virginia Park (Ockley at Line Avenue). We will meet in the park by 9:00 a.m. for warm-up, Qigong and socializing. At precisely 10:00 a.m. (local time) we will begin our T'ai Chi to add to the wave of T'ai Chi flowing around the world on this most special day. Festivities will be 9:00 a.m. – 12 noon.
Two weeks before World T’ai Chi and Qigong Day, (Saturday, 14 April 2007), there will be a free - to - the - public T'ai Chi and Qigong class led by Sifu Gabriel of Phoenix Virtue Temple to be held in Betty Virginia Park (Ockley at Line), Shreveport. The class will begin at 9:30 a.m. and run to about 11:00 a.m. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bring water to drink.

You need not have any prior experience to participate…it is a great day to begin to learn T’ai Chi and Qigong. We hope other practitioners in the ArkLaTex area will feel free to join us and practice their own particular forms…or…join us in ours. This is about all of us coming together in a common bond of health and healing. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bring water to drink. If local drummers would like to join us, so much the merrier!
